St Mary’s Secondary School news
Congratulations to Roisin Radler-Shinnors who has just received a scholarship at the German embassy as one of the top achievers in last year’s Junior Certificate German. As part of this scholarship, Roisin will get three weeks in Germany. This is a brilliant achievement because students have to show excellence in German and also show they have the personality and character to benefit from the experience. Well done to Roisin and her teacher, Ms Dwyer.
Our students are always busy fundraising for local charities and this week was no different. Our second year girls raised over €570 for Enable Ireland following a bake sale, a raffle and a very challenging sponsored silence! The girls met with Debbie Finn of Enable Ireland and had a tour of the new building. Congratulations to the girls and their teacher, Ms McAllister.
Transition Year students launched their 5K sponsored run during the week. This is part of the Sky Sports living for sport initiative taking place on Friday 28th April. All proceeds will go to Temple Street Children’s hospital.
