School Trip To Germany
3rd Year German trip
Recently we saw a large group of 3rd Years from St. Mary’s, Nenagh take off for an unforgettable school tour to Germany:
We flew into Brussels and began our 2 and a half hour journey to Cologne. Once we arrived we saw the Cathedral. We went shopping in Cologne, went to the El-De Haus and had a guided tour of the museum. The museum was centred around the Nazis. We then went to the hotel in Boppard for a good night’s rest.
The next day, we woke early and went to the vineyard. While we were there we saw how wine was made and tasted nice homemade juices. Afterwards we drove to Rüdesheim where we would catch a boat on the Rhine. On the way, we stopped at the Lorelei rock and took a group photo. We then travelled the rest of the way to Rüdesheim. We got on the boat for a tour of the Rhine Valley. It was very interesting. Later that night we went to Koblenz for bowling and had lots of fun!
The next day was Phantasialand! We stayed there all day and had a great time with the teachers.
The final day had us waving goodbye to the hotel owners and heading to Cologne for a guided tour. We had the tour on the bus as it was raining heavily. After this we went to the chocolate factory and stuffed ourselves! We learned how chocolate was made and packaged into shape. This was really interesting. The chocolate was delicious.
We walked to the Cathedral and took a lovely group photo. After some more shopping, sadly we had to head back to Düsseldorf airport for our flight back to Dublin.
Overall we had so much fun on the trip and we would like to say a huge thank you to all the teachers who brought us on this tour. We really appreciate it and will always remember our school tour to Germany.
