Local Visits

Being the largest town in North Tipperary, Nenagh has a lot to offer for the students in its locality. Many educational trips take place weekly in Nenagh or the surrounding parishes. Below is a flavour of some recent trips.

St Mary’s has a great relationship with the community and the businesses in the local community. Many trips take place to such businesses including the Bank. Recently the students joined the employees at the Bank of Ireland in a World Record attempt of having the most selfies taken at the same time.

2nd Year Students enjoy a History tour of Portumna castle and Workhouse annually.

5th and 6th Year Agricultural Science students visit a local farm as part of their Leaving Cert project. The girls get a tour of the farm, observe good practice on a farm and have a chance to ask questions and further investigate animals, crops, health and safety and much more.
