John Paul 2 Awards 2018

On Thursday evening last 8th of November 20 students from St.Marys Nenagh travelled to Ennis to receive their Pope John Paul 2 Award. The girls put in a lot hard work throughout the year volunteering in the local community, fundraising and helping in their local parishes . The girls took part in numerous social involvment activities such as the shoebox appeal ,St.Vincent De Paul Christmas food appeal,bake sales for the Fr.Peter McVerry trust ,fundraising concerts for living links and  4 in 1,volunteering in local charity shops ,visiting nursing homes and hospitals, just to mention a few ! For the parish involvement the girls helped out in the church by reading at mass, singing in the choir and leading pray and play. They also undertook a Minister of the Eucharist course led by Sister Maureen. The girls completed 20 weeks of social awareness and 20 weeks of parish involvement as well as a written reflection. 5th year students Sarah Madden, Katie Grace, Claire Ryan, Caoimhe Ryan Moran, Grace Shesgreen, Grace Kennedy,Julia Rojczyk ,Nela Par,Rachel Shanahan, Katie Murphy, Annie Ryan, Orla Maher, Émer Tuohy, Grace O’Dwyer, Eileen Gleeson, received gold medals and 6th year students Marie O’Connell, Brid McKenna,Jenny Myers,Megan Ryan and Sinead Long received the papal cross award. The girls would like to  say a special word of thanks to Sister Maureen for all her help throughout the year
